Alberta Jensen "Birdie" Roberts
Alberta "Birdie" Jensen Roberts 1913 ~ 2008 NORTH OGDEN - Alberta "Birdie" Jensen Roberts, 95, passed away December 6, 2008 at her home.She was born August 10, 1913 in Salem, Idaho a daughter of Clements Heber Jensen and Edith Pollie Furse. Alberta graduated from Ogden High School. On February 14, 1934 she married W. Reed Roberts in the Salt Lake Temple. She has lived in North Ogden, Ogden, Cedar City, Salt Lake and Reno, Nevada. Alberta was a very devoted member of the LDS Church where she served in various ward and stake positions; including Relief Society President and Ward organist for 67 years. She served with her husband in the Ogden Temple and Family History Center. She enjoyed genealogy, sewing, quilting and taught piano lessons for 75 years. Alberta was active in the North Ogden Civic League and Daughters of Utah Pioneers Old Ben Camp, serving as Captain. Surviving are her children, Carol (George) Schindler of Reno, NV, Gwynne (George) Nichols of North Ogden, David (Arlene) Roberts of West Jordan; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also surviving is one sister, Marjorie Smart of Roy. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one son, Evan. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ben Lomond First Ward, 575 East 3100 North, North Ogden. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. on Sunday, December 14th from 7 to 9 p.m. Internment, Logan City Cemetery.
